DY inaugura Vuelo internacional Boliviano

El cantante puertorriqueño Daddy Yankee viajará en el primer trayecto internacional de la aerolínea estatal Boliviana de Aviación (BoA) el próximo sábado junto a su equipo en un vuelo chárter desde la ciudad colombiana de Medellín hasta Bolivia, donde prevé ofrecer tres conciertos.

"Para BoA es un orgullo poder decir que tenemos la capacidad de trasladar a un artista como es Daddy Yankee. La aerolínea demuestra de esta manera que tiene condiciones para operar internacionalmente", afirmó en rueda de prensa el responsable de Ventas de la aerolínea estatal, Luis Velasco.

El cantante, conocido por éxitos como "Ella me levantó", "Jefe" y "La gasolina", prevé llegar con sus bailarines y técnicos a primera hora del sábado al aeropuerto Viru Viru de Santa Cruz en un Boeing 737-300 con capacidad para 130 pasajeros.

Además, una fan ganadora de un concurso promovido por BoA acompañará al músico en el vuelo entre Medellín y Santa Cruz.El "jefe del reguetón", que tuvo que cancelar sus espectáculos que estaban previstos para el mes pasado en Bolivia por el avance de la gripe A en el país, llevará su espectáculo el 8 de agosto al estadio Tahuichi Aguilera de Santa Cruz, el 9 al Félix Capriles de Cochabamba y el 11 al Hernando Siles de La Paz.

El responsable de la aerolínea estatal aseguró que el viaje con Daddy Yankee y su equipo "es el primer paso de BoA para ingresar en el mercado internacional" e informó que su compañía ya tiene licencia para realizar viajes internacionales a "Brasil, Argentina Estados Unidos y Europa".

Rihanna's new album will have 'the island feel' from Sean Kingston and Daddy Yankee.

Sean Kingston has confirmed that he is involved in the making of Rihanna's new studio album. For this project, he works with singer/producer Daddy Yankee and will bring Jamaican flavor the new material.

"Me and my producer Yankee, we cooking up some stuff," Sean told Rap-Up. "Her people said we want some stuff for Rihanna 'cause I'm from Jamaica. I got the island feel, so I'm writing some stuff right now for her new album."

In further statement, Sean explains why he is keen to make music for Rihanna. "You know what I like about her? She's never changed. Even when her music changed, she always represented for the Caribbean, always represented for Barbados," he gushed.

"And that's what Sean Kingston does. He represents for Jamaica. Anything I do, I always put Jamaica in there. You can't leave where you're coming from and I like that about her," he continued. "Every time we see each other, we talk in our accent. She's funny. She's dope. I like her."

Beside Sean Kingston, other musicians who are rumored to make contribution to Rihanna's new album include The All-All-American Rejects' vocalist Tyson Ritter, The-Dream, Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z, Kanye West, OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder, Soulja Boy, Shontelle and Pharrell Williams. Other details about the record are still under tight wraps.

Tempo could have become reggaetón's biggest star. Now he's in prison.

Born David Sánchez Badillo in Ponce, Puerto Rico, Tempo was a kid from the projects who got hooked on music at an early age. When he was four years old, Tempo's parents divorced, and he spent the next decade traveling between New York and Puerto Rico. During his time in la Isla, he studied at his town's public school of music. In New York, he fell in love with hip hop. By his 18th birthday, Tempo was kicking off his rap career from Orlando, Florida, combining the gritty hip hop he'd heard playing on the streets of NYC with Puerto Rican reggaetón.

In the '90s, the green-eyed rapper hooked up with DJ Playero, one of the producers credited with pulling reggaetón out from the underground. Their work led to Tempo's first two albums of street-wise gangsta rap, Game Over and New Game, both of which went gold in Puerto Rico. By 2000, he was battling with Daddy Yankee for the top spot in the game. But his rise would soon come to an abrupt halt.

In 2002, Tempo and his producer, Buda, were arrested for alleged possession of 30 kilos (66 lbs) of heroin and charged with the intent to sell. The husky MC maintained his innocence, blaming law enforcement officials for being unable to capture "real drug dealers." No drugs were seized at the time of the arrest. The prosecution then used lyrics from his songs, including Narco Hampon, as evidence against him:

Three years later, Tempo was convicted and sentenced to 24 years in prison. Buda, who passed away in 2007, was acquitted. While Tempo's lawyers appealed the conviction, he found support in the unlikeliest of allies: Daddy Yankee. Once his biggest rival, El Cangri joined forces with fellow reggaetón stars Tego Calderón and Hector "El Father" to promote the Free Tempo campaign. Some accuse Daddy Yankee of supporting the jailed rapper for publicity, but Tempo disagrees: "What does Daddy Yankee gain [out of this] if he has everything? Fame, fortune, money… he's at the peak of his career."

Last month, Tempo dropped Free Tempo, a new album featuring a who's who of reggaetón: Daddy Yankee, Wisin y Yandel, Jowell y Randy, Arcángel, Tego Calderón, Zion, Fat Joe, Hector "El Father" and Yomo.

August 1st, 2009- Daddy Yankee will be unable to perform today as announced at the Comcast Latino Family Festival in Boston, Massachusetts due to illness.

Dr. Alvaro Medina Flores who took care of him after his concert at the Estadio General Santander in Cucuta, Colombia advised him not to flight within 24 hours because of his “acute otitis media (middle ear infection)
Any patron who does not want to enter the stadium will be entitled to a full refund. Patrons entering the stadium after the within notice agree and acknowledge that no refunds will be provided thereafter.

Daddy Yankee tour will continue on August 7th in Medellin, Colombia at the Estadio Atanacio Girardo and will continue in Bolivia.

1 de agosto, 2009- Daddy Yankee no podrá aparecer hoy según anunciado en El Comcast Latino Family Festival en Boston, Massachusetts luego de que se enfermara de Otitis Aguda y Faringoamigdalitis .
El Médico Alvaro Medina Flores quien asistiera anoche a Daddy Yankee en el hotel luego de su espectáculo en el Estadio General Santander en Cucuta, Colombia; dijo que el cantante no puede viajar al menos durante 24 horas debido a “una fuerte infección de oido, Faringoamigdalitis y Otitis aguda”.
Cualquier persona que no quiera asistir al festival tendrá derecho a devolución del dinero según anunció la organización del evento.
La gira de Daddy Yankee retomará el próximo 7 de agosto en Medellín, Colombia en el Estadio Atanacio Girardo y luego el artista seguirá su paso por Bolivia.

El polifacético artista puertorriqueño anunció que "esta semana" terminará de grabar su nuevo trabajo discográfico, Daddy Yankee mundial, que llegará a la venta el 13 de octubre con " muchas sorpresas"

El artista promete causar sensación con este lanzamiento, asegura en referencia a varias de las colaboraciones incluidas en el LP. La que sin duda tiene más morbo es el dueto con su ex enemigo Don Omar, llamado El ritmo no perdona (Prende) y cuya versión original ya suena en las radios latinas.

También ha grabado una canción con el artista de reggae roots Barrington Levy. Daddy Yankee está muy emocionado con esta pieza, de la que no ha revelado el nombre de momento: "Es un artista que me influyó mucho musicalmente. La canción está a otro nivel. ¡Mundial!".

De momento el track-list oficial no ha sido revelado, aunque circulan diferentes versiones no confirmadas en Internet.

Yankee tiene otros proyectos: comenzará a rodar su nueva película en febrero de 2010 y ha anunciado que trabaja en una película de Hollywood "de alto calibre"; además, acaba de lanzar su perfume. La fragancia DY se vende en Latinoamérica con una camiseta, un collar y un gorro. No se sabe cuándo llegará a España.

No son mas de 35 segundos de video, pero bastan para cumplir su objetivo. El Big Boss del reggaeton, Daddy Yankee, grabo un mensaje desde su casa en Puerto Rico para un chileno.
El artista se conmovio con la historia de Diego Poblete, el niño de 12 años que lleva cuatro meses en el Hospital Luis Calvo Mackenna, luego que fuera sometido a un trasplante de higado.
"Nosotros no queriamos que se enterara Diego de que venia Daddy Yankee, porque el es fanatico, y sin querer a alguien se le escapo. Como no se da cuenta de la condicion en que esta, queria ir, pero como no podiamos sacarlo, me comprometi a buscar por todos lados los medios para que autografiara un papel", cuenta Luis Poblete, papa del niño.
El objetivo s cumplio. Francisco Saavedra, periodista de "Viva La Mañana", de Canal 13, contacto al manager de Daddy en la visita que realizo al pais hace algunas semanas y en su hotel firmo una polera con un mensaje para Diego.
"El mundo esta lleno de guerreros y tu eres uno de ellos, que Dios te llene de fortaleza", le escribio.
Pero Saavedra insistio y le mando videos con la informacion de la situacion del muchacho y 10 dias despues recibio un e-mail con la grabacion.
"Me llego muy adentro que el se diera el tiempo de firmarle una polera, pero fue aun mas emotivo el mensaje del video. Lo que mas me emociono fue que dijera que Diego es un guerrero", comenta el papa desde el hospital, donde su hijo ha estado sedado desde el viernes ultimo, lo que le ha impedido ver los mensajes de su idolo.
